Lipofilling or lipstructure
Also called "lipofilling" or "lipostructure", this technique involves fat harvesting from a remote zone and reinjecting it into a targeted area to increase volume. The two main ways by which soft tissues age is by increasing laxity and loss of volume. Fat grafting can be used to reframe the oval of the face and increase the volume of targeted areas, a very powerful tool in facial rejuvenation.Fat grafting is most appropriate for the correction of deep volume loss but not for superficial flaws, nor wrinkles. Lipofilled fat is a graft that is bioactive and permanent, although around 60% of the grafted fat may resorb. Different medical technologies can be used in adjunct to fat grafting to help increase the graft take, like PRP. Fillers can be used on top of fat grafting to correct more superficial concerns.
This outpatient procedure can be done under local anesthesia and sedation or under general anesthesia.
