How long do the effects of hyaluronic acid last?

There are several types of hyaluronic acid, and they all have different shelf lives. The effects of some products can last from a few months to around a year, while others can last longer, up to 18 months or more. A product based on cross-linked hyaluronic acid molecules generally lasts longer than one based on non-cross-linked molecules. The duration of results also varies according to the area treated during the session. Areas of the face with greater muscular mobility, such as lips or expression lines, may have a shorter lifespan in your body than less mobile areas, such as cheekbones or the hollows of dark circles. Finally, each person reacts differently to hyaluronic acid injections due to factors such as metabolism, skin quality and lifestyle. Some people have a body that metabolizes hyaluronic acid more quickly, which can reduce the duration of the result.
