How long does it take to see the results of tensor threads?

The results of tensor threads are often visible immediately after the procedure, but the final effect may take several weeks to develop as collagen forms.

What's the difference between absorbable and non-absorbable tensor threads?

Absorbable tensor threads are made of materials that naturally degrade in the body over time, generally over a period of several months to a year or so. Non-absorbable threads remain in place permanently.

How do tensor threads work?

Tensor threads are inserted under the skin using special needles or cannulas, and act as “anchors” to lift and support sagging tissue. Once in place, the threads also stimulate collagen production in the skin, helping to improve skin firmness and elasticity.

What are the indications for tensor threads?

Tensor threads are mainly used for non-surgical facelifts. They can help correct sagging skin, jowls, nasolabial folds, drooping eyebrows, sagging neck skin and other signs of facial aging.

Is the insertion of tensor threads painful?

The sensation of pain during tensor thread insertion may vary from person to person. The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic to reduce discomfort and minimize pain during insertion of the tightening threads. However, you may experience some discomfort, pressure or tingling.

How long does the effect of tensor threads last?

The effect of tensor threads varies according to the type of thread used, each individual’s aging process and other factors. In general, results can last from several months to over a year. Absorbable threads will dissolve naturally over time.

What are the possible side effects of tensor threads?

Thread insertion is generally considered a safe procedure, but as with any medical treatment, there are some potential side effects. Mild to moderate bruising and swelling may occur in the treated areas. However, these effects are temporary and disappear spontaneously after a few days to a few weeks. You may also experience increased sensitivity or pain in the treated areas for a few days after insertion of the threads. This pain can be alleviated with painkillers prescribed by your doctor. Slight redness and skin irritation may sometimes occur at the thread insertion points. In principle, these symptoms are temporary and fade rapidly. In rare cases, asymmetry or irregularities may remain after insertion of the tightening threads. These can easily be corrected by subsequent adjustments or touch-ups. Although rare, there is a risk of infection at the points where the threads are inserted. It is important to follow the post-treatment care instructions provided by your doctor to reduce this risk. In rare cases, nodules or granulomas may form around the tensor threads. These formations may require further evaluation and treatment.
